Claude Monet, French Impressionist

Claude Monet was a prolific painter during the Impressionist period of the late 19th century.  Monet painted all of his works on location and was obsessed with capturing the nuances of light.  Monet would paint the same scene at various times to capture subtle  atmospheric changes.  He rented a flat in London for over a year to capture the houses of Parliament.
